Monotypes, 2019, ongoing
My printmaking practice bridges the spiritual and the material, transforming delicate papers into one-of-a-kind works that offer a transcendent experience. By combining photogram techniques with drypoint, chine-collé, and etching, I push the boundaries of traditional printmaking to create objects that embody hope, beauty, and resilience.
I am particularly drawn to botanical imprints arranged in natural patterns—spirals, meanders, and tessellations—that preserve the fleeting beauty of plants while capturing their intricate forms. I often incorporate figurative elements and abstractions to echo these organic motifs, further dissolving the lines between photography and printmaking.
Each print is a singular work, unbound by the constraints of a series. This approach allows me to fully explore the unique alchemy of materials and techniques in each piece, embracing the unrepeatable nature of transformation. Through this imaginative process, I uncover the healing forces of the natural world and our interconnectedness, realizing my vision through experimentation and surrender.
